Open goverment

The open government approach is a governance trend that has been adopted by a number of public administrations around the world. It advocates a transparent government that welcomes suggestions from everyone and is willing to discuss and examine its ways of working.

This transformation in the government’s approach will focus on four areas:

  • Transparency, which concerns the proactive distribution of documents and open data that can be reused by the public;
  • Innovation, which prioritizes the democratization of public access to technology;
  • Participation, which places the public at the center of the government’s decision-making process, thereby improving the quality of its decisions;
  • Collaboration, which is aimed at improving the government’s efficiency. Better collaboration between government players and civil society will improve the quality and efficiency of public services.
